Ballywalter Park is the home of Lord & Lady Dunleath and has been in the family's ownership since it was built by Brian Dunleath's great, great, great grandfather in 1846. It was designed by one of Irelands most eminent architects, Sir Charles Lanyon, and built in the Italianate Palazzo style. It is situated on the Ards Peninsula, some 18 miles from Belfast, with views out to the Irish Sea and the Scottish Coast beyond.
The house has undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrading in recent years and it is now available as a prestigious and luxurious venue for conferences, corporate dinners and incentive events. Ballywalter Park is available only for a limited number of events each year, ensuring that each one is given the fullest attention to ensure complete satisfaction and total success. As a matter of course clients are guaranteed exclusive use of the house and the 270 acres of surrounding gardens and parkland during their stay.
The main reception rooms are exquisitely decorated and furnished and provide a flexible selection of options to suit the occasion. The drawing room is suitable for meetings and for larger lunches or dinners, whilst the Dining Room can seat up to 20 - 22 guests. The panelled library provides the perfect location to relax after a busy day, as do the Billiard and smoking Rooms. The Conservatory comes into its own for pre dinner drinks, and, as an alternative, the magnificent Inner Hall, rising to the full height of the house.
All the catering is prepared in the house by Lady Dunleath, who is a professional food historian, and her team using only ingredients sourced on the estate or from very local suppliers. Meals are complemented by fine wines from the house cellars which contain in excess of 3800 bottles, selected by Lord Dunleath and based on his many years of experience in the wine trade.
Ballywalter Park prides itself on its flexibility for every event and Brian & Vibse Dunleath will work with their clients to provide a tailor-made and unique package to suit their requirements.
